I'm including two pictures. One of the very mangled box the mattress came in and the other of the mattress itself, immediately out of the plastic covering. ( the picture of the box shows only the bottom, which was opened, the top was far worse. That wasn't Barwefurniture's fault. I did hear the FedEx guy struggling outside. After moving it inside, I can see why. ) I read reviews and was hesitant to purchase a mattress in a box, but had done so in a twin size for my granddaughter's / second bedroom a year or so ago. It was perfect. Different brand, too. Most reviews on this mattress said it was easy, had no odor, was comfy and arrived much earlier than expected. Mine has a slight odor and was a bear to get up the stairs. I went one step at a time, very slowly. I recommend you have help if your bedroom is not on a ground floor. This thing weighs ( according to FedEx, ) 89 pounds and I don't doubt it! And it trailed my box spring by a week. They were ordered at the same time. I will be adding a mattress topper of some kind, as I don't think it's going to be as great as most reviewers have said regarding comfort. It did, however, inflate almost immediately after I removed the plastic covering, so that was good. If it "comes to life" after a day or so, I'll update the review more favorably. ( and it isn't as lumpy as it looks. ) But the topper will stay. Please take heed though, and realize that this is a really heavy mattress in it's packing and you might need help maneuvering it. Mine is a queen size, BTW. ( not too bad for a 67 year old lady, though. By myself! ) For now, I'm leaving it at a so-so rating. UPDATE: The mattress is perfect. I'm raising my earlier review to 5 stars. I imagine the slight odor could be equated to a " new car smell", it did not stay and this mattress sits at the 10 inches as advertised. It is between soft and firm, so I'm considering it as a Goldilocks mattress: just right. I have a mattress pad that I will use, but only because I'd already purchased it. It lost the bumpy look and settled out quite nicely. I definitely recommend!! I'm including a third photo which shows the mattress now, as it sits on a Barwefurniture folding box spring ( love that thing! ) and my new Barwefurniture bed. They suit me very well, I love the old fashioned look of the bed. Great mattress!! Thanks Barwefurniture!

For the price I think its a pretty good deal. Comfortable just high enough so my buddys can get up here with no problem.
