Finally put the item together today only to find after the post had been cemented in that when we went to attach the mailbox the next day, we were only able to screw in two of the screws to the mounting plate (with great difficulty) because none of the holes lined up. Also, the mailbox doesn’t close securely at all and I fear that after being opened and closed every day, it will eventually not close at all. Can I be sent a replacement mounting plate and a mailbox that closes securely?

Just installed the mailbox on the lot of the “almost ours†house.
Assembly and installation were quite simple. I used a 4×4 as well as a bag of Quikcrete for extra support.
No issues with holes lining up, all connections were fine. The latch to the mailbox door was a bit loose, but a simple adjustment seems to have fixed the problem.
I thought the mailbox would have been made of thicker metal, but I’ll have to wait and see if that is an issue.
All things considered, I am happy with the mailbox.

Absolutely love this mailbox BUT it came with a large dent in one side. We then noticed that the box that held the mailbox (which was inside of a larger box that held the post) was also dented. So this definitely happened during shipping or was sent damaged. Would be thrilled if company would send a new dent-free mailbox! It would be 5 stars.

Love our mailbox! Added the wrought iron address plaque and it makes it look even more impressive! This actually is our second one…a snow plow broke off our first one!
